What it costs

One price per foot. That is the whole price sheet.

Plenty of gutter companies quote a vague range over the phone and settle the real number at your door. We publish ours. As of July 2026, gutter cleaning cost works out like this:

Home typeRateExample: 150 ft of gutter
Single-story homes$1.00 per linear foot$200 (job minimum applies)
Two-story and multi-story homes$2.50 per linear foot$375
Job minimum$200

National surveys put professional gutter cleaning at $0.95 to $2.25 per linear foot; a flat dollar sits at the value end. The two-story rate covers the second-floor roofline and the ladder safety setup that height demands.

How we do it

How we clean gutters: inspect, clear, flush, prove it

Every job runs four steps.

  1. Walk-around gutter inspection. We review every run first, noting sag, standing water, and trouble spots.
  2. Clear the gutter debris. Blower, by hand, or with water, whichever pulls the leaves, pine needles, twigs, and roof grit out fastest.
  3. Flush every downspout. Gutter flow testing confirms each downspout drains and water flow moves away from the house. A clear channel with a plugged downspout is half a job.
  4. Clean up, then show you photos. Gutter cleaning makes a big mess on the driveway and around the house. We always pick that up, so it is not your responsibility. You get before and after photos from the roof. Every job.

Step four in progress: rinsing the mess off the driveway before the homeowner ever sees it.

You paid for professional service; you should not need to climb a ladder to verify it. The photos also catch leaking seams, sag, soft fascia. We sell no gutter repairs, so a flag from us means you need to know, not that we want the job.

Why it matters

What clogged gutters do to a home around here

Placer County sits against the Sierra Nevada foothills, and the tree cover in Rocklin, Loomis, and Granite Bay fills gutters faster than homeowners expect. We have seen every stage of neglect. Overflowing gutters staining stucco. Water intrusion rotting fascia. Runs sagging under wet debris. Mosquitoes in trapped water. And plants. Our own in-laws in Rocklin could not explain the greenery sprouting from their roof edge. One ladder later: gutters packed solid with dirt, growing a garden.

Packed solid: leaves, needles, and roof grit filling a gutter to the brim. This is what "before" looks like.

Gutters exist for one reason: rainwater drainage away from the slab. When gutter clogs send water over the edge, foundation protection is the first thing you lose. Winter storms drop storm debris right when the system needs to work hardest.

Twice a year is the right gutter maintenance schedule here. Most people never look at all, so once a year already puts you ahead. Two visits of seasonal maintenance, early summer and after the fall drop, keep rain gutter performance steady through storm season. And do not wait until it is raining. A packed gutter full of wet leaves fights back.

Straight answers

Have gutter guards? Read this first

Guarded and mostly clear? We pull the light debris that sneaks through, flush standing water, and confirm the downspouts run. That is normal gutter service for a guarded home. Guards reduce cleanings. They do not eliminate them.

Packed solid under the guards? We will tell you straight: that is the installer's job. Pulling a guard system risks damage, so we document the condition with photos and point you back to the installer. We sell no guards either, so the read you get comes with zero sales pitch.

Common questions

Gutter cleaning questions Placer County homeowners ask

How much does gutter cleaning cost in the Rocklin area?
$1 per linear foot on single-story homes and $2.50 per linear foot on two-story homes, with a $200 job minimum, as of July 2026. The rate is flat and confirmed first. Gutter brightening for the exterior faces is discounted during the same visit.
How often should gutters be cleaned in Northern California?
Twice a year for most Placer County homes: early summer and after fall leaf drop. Heavy tree cover in Rocklin, Loomis, and Granite Bay can push that higher. Clearing dry gutters in June beats pulling wet, packed leaves out mid-storm.
What happens if gutters never get cleaned?
Water lands where it should not. Overflowing gutters erode soil beside the slab, stain stucco, rot fascia boards, and breed mosquitoes. We have pulled living plants from dirt-packed gutters in Rocklin. Clogs also add weight that drags gutters away from the roofline.
Do gutters with gutter guards still need cleaning?
Yes, occasionally. Guards cut debris down but fine material gets through, so we hand-pull what we find, flush standing water, and confirm the downspouts drain. Gutters packed solid beneath a guard system are the installer's responsibility; we document that condition with photos.
Do you repair gutters or install gutter guards?
No. We clean. If our drainage inspection turns up a leaking seam, sag, or soft wood, you get clear photos and a straight explanation so you can bring in the right specialist. We sell no repairs and no guards, so the recommendation carries no upsell.
